Acceptable Use Policy

LocalDesk is built to help people accomplish meaningful work. Using powerful AI tools also requires respecting security, privacy, and the rights of others.

Scope

This policy applies to everything you do with LocalDesk: the website, your account, the desktop app, Missions and runs, and the tools and systems you connect. It's part of the Terms of Service.

Use LocalDesk lawfully and with permission

Use LocalDesk only on code, files, systems, and accounts that you own or are authorized to use, and only in ways the law allows where you are and where those systems are.

Respect the terms of the services you connect, and the rights of the people whose work or information you handle.

Working with agents and automated operations

LocalDesk can run commands, change files, and call connected tools on your Mac. A command you approve runs with your user account's permissions and can change or delete data, so you stay in charge of what it does:

  • Review a Mission's plan, the files it may change, and the commands a run will carry out before you approve them.
  • Approve only commands you understand, and decline any you don't.
  • Keep secrets out of what you share with LocalDesk: don't paste passwords, private keys, or recovery phrases into prompts or Missions.
  • Use version control and backups for work that matters, and verify results before you deploy, publish, or rely on them.
  • Don't point LocalDesk at production systems, or at anyone else's systems, without authorization and appropriate safeguards.

What you may not do

Don't use LocalDesk, or let anyone use your account, to:

  • access, or try to access, accounts, systems, networks, or data without authorization, directly or through a connected tool;
  • probe, scan, or test the security of LocalDesk or any other system without permission, except as our Responsible Disclosure policy allows;
  • bypass or interfere with access controls, usage limits, licensing, or payment verification, including trying to activate access without a confirmed payment;
  • create, run, or spread malware or other harmful code, or attack, disrupt, or overload any service;
  • commit fraud or deceive people: impersonating a person or organization, misrepresenting who you are, or running scams, phishing, or payment fraud;
  • collect, expose, or process other people's personal information unlawfully, or track, harass, or surveil anyone;
  • infringe intellectual property or break license terms, such as removing the license from code you don't have the rights to;
  • send spam or unsolicited messages, or use automation to get around another service's limits or terms;
  • share your account, or resell or sublicense access to LocalDesk without our permission.

Connected tools and systems

You're responsible for the tools, servers, repositories, and services you connect, the permissions you grant them, and following their terms.

Grant the narrowest permission that does the job: once, for a session, for a Mission, or for a project. Disconnect tools you no longer use.

Enforcement

If we reasonably believe an account breaks this policy, we may limit, suspend, or end its access, as the Terms of Service describe. Where appropriate, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond, unless the law or a security concern prevents it.

We may report illegal activity to the authorities where the law allows or requires it.

Reporting misuse
